December 12th and 13th GMI is hosting a food drive for needy families in the Socal Area and Touraj is hosting a Massive 2 day 40k Battle.
We are asking for canned food donations and boxed foods sponsorships for the event.
Come and cheer the boys on as they battle for king of the food pile. Wager can goods on the outcome and help us make this a GREAT holiday for some deserving family while you cheer/or jeer your favorite gamers on throughout the weekend.
Touraj is taking care of sign ups for the event itself, and participants only cost is a small bag of durable food items (cans & boxed non-perishible items).
Collection bins will be available all weekend at the store so if you simply want/or need to stop by and drop off items you can (no pun intended).
This is a great cause and I know that the gaming community has the heart to do this right.
One of my friends in Utah has challenged us in Southern California, as they were able to collect enough goods to feed 20 families.
The Warmachine community is also hosting a tournament on Sunday and will be also contributing goods to this drive.
Talk to your friends, your families and your gaming buds, and lets all come together on this!!
Any and all games at GMI that weekend are encouraged to participate in this, and it would be even better if any other stores or gaming groups want to help out on this can set up collection cans at their stores and events and bring their collections to GMI on Sunday, December 13th!!!

The beforementioned 40K Mega-Apocalypse game is indeed scheduled for the 12th and 13th! The players have already been pre-selected, as this is a very themed/storylined battle, pitting Chaos vs Chaos! Lord Khorne sends 3 of his 8 TRUE CHOSEN ONES to force the Traitor Legions into a temporary Allegiance for another upcoming Mega-Apocalypse game (in late March). This game will feature approx 70,000pts+ on both sides of the table!!!! Our good friend Anthony Hanner is driving down from Seattle on the 10th, at which time some of us will be meeting up for dinner/drinks! On Friday (11th) night, around 9pm or so, we'll be doing the actual Deployment for this game. Then, out for drinks and food again! Early Saturday morning, many of us will be meeting at the local Carrows for breakfast, LOTS OF COFFEE, and some good early smack talk! The 1st Turn will then start at 11:30am... We're hoping many of you will come out to help support the hobby, the store and those in need by donating canned food for the needy. I figure that if some of us have the time and money to spend on this hobby, the LEAST we could do is donate to the community!

GMI is having a 40k RTT this Saturday starting at 10:30am. Total points will be 2000, and special characters are welcome. There is a $20 buy-in, but that comes with the opportunity to talk smack to "Ferndogg" (sounds like a side-kick's name).
Bring your display boards!

Save the Date! It is the Touradj's demise! April 10th GMI GAMES is having a 40k RTT. Points will be limited to 2000 points and special characters are allowed. I will be using the scenarios for the SoCal Slaughter, so those of you going can get a chance to test your army. This is the last RTT until the Slaughter and will serve as a good warm up. As always, be at GMI by 10:30 to make your $20 buy in, get out your stuff and talk some smack. Don't for get to being your display boards and army fluff (they give you points to your overall score!).
Also, you are allowed to turn your list in for the Slaughter after the tournament, but only if you play in it. Q will be at the tournament accepting lists and fees for the Slaughter.
Hope to see you all there,

'Ard Boyz is this Saturday. Get the rules from the Games Workshop website and be prepared for a hard sprint to the semis. I would like to start at 10:30 so try to be there by 10.
If you have questions on how rules will be played, let me know so I can do my research.
Hope to see many there,
Toby

The only big one is mission three:
Drop Pods and Monoliths (Count as Cruising when Deep Striking) count for how many KP? Common sense says 1 but people are arguing over it.

I say 1 Kill Point each. I assume the rule is in reference to every turn in a given phase.
*Just in case this comes up in the semifinals.

The next 40K Tourni is Sat June 19. This will be a doubles tournament -each player is allowed up to 1000 points. The force organization for the team is as follows: Each player is allowed: HQ: 1 Elite: 0-2 Troop: 1-4 Fast: 0-2 Heavy: 0-2
The team's combined force organization chart cannot have over the usual allowances for a force organization chart in the standard missions.
If a team member is playing Space Wolfs, he may take 1-2 HQ (this may break the rule above).
If a player is playing Daemons, the Heralds still count as 1/2 an HQ.
In general, nothing from your army will have an effect on your teammate's army. So your Sanguinary Priests cannot benefit your buddy's Blood Angels, and your Icons don't work for your buddy's units. The only exception to this is something that currently works on all models, friend or foe (Skarbrand, and some others).
A team's painting score will be the average of the two player scores.
A single score for sportsmanship and composition will be given to a team each round by their opposing team.
The entrance fee is a $20 buy-in per person. We will start playing at 11 so be there by 10:30 to talk some smack.
If there are any questions just let me know. Toby Walker GMI GAMES

Update on the team tourni.
First, people are really excited about it.
Second, a rules clarification: Independent Characters and other units that can join units cannot join your team member's units. Also, your units cannot embark into your team mate's transports. (I don't want to see terminators jumping out of a battle wagon, or Nobz out of a Land Raider)
If you have any questions just let me know.
Hope to see you all there!
